What a great first two days of school!   I am enjoying getting know your students and looking forward to a fantastic year!   Please look for a purple paper with instructions to join my Remind app.   This will give information and reminders throughout the year.  On Friday, August 24,  the students will have a spelling test over Journeys Lesson 1 words that are listed below.  Your child has written these in the Planner.  We will work on these at school, but parent support at home to study is appreciated.

Meet the teacher is Tuesday, August 14.  I can’t wait to meet all of our new 4th graders!  You may bring your supplies so that you won’t be overloaded on the first day of school.  I look forward to seeing you!

May 21 – 23, 2018

I can’t believe this is the LAST week of school!  Below is  schedule for these three days:

Monday – full day for students 

Tuesday – 8:30 – 4th grade Awards is in the cafeteria.  Parents may sign out students afterward.  Early Release at 12:00

Wednesday – Last day of school!  Early Release at 12:00

 

Week of May 14 – 18, 2018

STAAR Math Test is Monday.  STAAR Reading Test is Tuesday.  

  • To prepare your child for success, insure a good night’s rest and breakfast.
  • There will be NO lunches delivered on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.  Make sure your child has a lunch before leaving home.
  • No visitors will be allowed at lunch for those days.

Friday is our Splash Pad Field Trip!   A new letter was sent home today which includes important information regarding appropriate clothing, costs of snacks, and discipline marks.  Please return your signature portion to school.  We are so looking forward to this special event!  Parents are welcome to come and picnic with us.  Also, you may take your child with you if you sign them out with your child’s teacher.

NO LUNCH VISITORS FRIDAY, MAY 4TH

Due to Kindergarten Grandparents’ Day activities, we are asking for NO LUNCH VISITORS this Friday, May 4th. Thank you for your understanding as we all work together to make this day go as smoothly as possible

RECORDER CONCERT THURSDAY

Mrs. Ritchey and our Fourth Graders invite you to their recorder concert on Thursday, April 19, at 9:00 a.m.   We are all looking forward to their performance!  If you would like to take your child with you following the concert, please see your homeroom teacher to sign him or her out.

Week of April 16 – 20, 2018

Now that our Writing STAAR Test is behind us, we will spend time each day on Math and Measurement in my class.  In addition, we will continue to have Spelling as well as Science.  I am so proud of our 4th Graders for their effort and attitude in regard to their Writing!

Our next school holiday is Monday, April 23.  Friday, April 20, school is in session because of our days missed due to bad weather.

Our Easter Party was enjoyable, even though our picnic was moved to the 4th grade hall.  We appreciate Mrs. Johnson for picking up and delivering all the delicious hot fudge sundaes.  Have a wonderful Easter weekend!
