Happy Friday! Next week there will be NO SCHOOL for students on Friday.  Also, in writing we will have an assessment over sentence fragments and run on sentences, so we won’t have any spelling words.

Monday: Wear red – Support the Red Ribbon Awareness campaign.

 

Tuesday: Wear your favorite team jersey or T shirt – “Team up against drugs.”

 

Wednesday:Wear dress code appropriate PJ’s – “Stay healthy and have sweet dreams.”

 

Thursday:Wear crazy socks – “Healthy habits help you stand out.”

Week of October 8 – 12, 2018

It’s been another great week!  The 4th grade field trip to the Belcher Center was a wonderful experience.  Everyone enjoyed the play about the Spider, Ant, Bee, Fly, Butterfly, and Worm.  Students made connections to what we have recently studied in science as well.  

Back to our normal weekly schedule, we will have a spelling test on Friday over Journeys Lesson 8 words.

Week of October 1 – 5, 2018

We’ve enjoyed another great week of school!  On Tuesday, the 4th graders planted their wildflower garden, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.   Monday begins our Buckets for Belle Fundraiser, so your student may bring money to help this sweet family.  Thursday is our field trip to the Belcher Center for the play.  Friday is Homecoming and early release at 1:15.  There is no spelling list for the week.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Week of September 24 – 28, 2018

On Tuesday, our 4th graders will plant wildflower seeds in the garden to observe their growth and study wildflower species that are native to our area.  We look forward to this each year!  If it is raining on Tuesday, we will reschedule and update so that students may know when to wear clothing and shoes that can get a little dirty. 

UPCOMING – October 4 – Field Trip to Belcher Center – If you’ve not returned permission slip and $5, please do so by October 2.   October 5 (Friday) – EARLY RELEASE at 1:15 

EARLY RELEASE – Wednesday at 12:00 for teacher training

THURSDAY – Progress Reports will go home and Big Kahuna Fundraiser Kick-Off

FRIDAY – The cafeteria begins selling ice cream to students who bring 75 cents or have money in their accounts – no charging.

Our first full week of school was terrific!  The response to the Remind ap was great!  Thank you for signing up!  On Friday I sent home our first Scholastic book order if you’re interested in this opportunity.   The deadline for either ordering online or returning the form with the selections desired and money or cash, is  Tuesday, September 4.  If you order online and spend $25, your child may pick out an extra book.  I noticed that someone has already taken advantage of this offer.
